Updates to Firefox 4
Jul 15th
Pin tab is a cool feature of Google Chrome, it saves space on the tab bar and prevents you from accidently closing it… The mock-ups of Firefox 4 suggested the same feature coming to Firefox too. The first beta of Firefox 4 did have a new refreshed theme but it didn’t have the “App tab” feature – yes that is what Mozilla is calling the pin tab feature. This App tab feature has shown up in the latest nightly built of Firefox 4. You can download it here. To create an App Tab, just right click and select the option from the context menu.
Mac users did not get the fully refreshed UI of Firefox 4 in beta 1. The second beta of Firefox would hopefully be released by July 22 and it would give Mac users the much needed UI refresh.

Gmail drag and drop in Safari
Jul 13th
Apple’s Safari browser users can now drag and drop images and attachments into their Gmail window… this feature had been available for Chrome and Firefox users for quite a while now. One another feature which had been available only for Chrome, the ability to have new windows outlive your original Gmail window, is now available in the newest version Safari too.

Jun 29th
Oh yeah…. Firefox 4 in beta form is here and it spots new sleeker, minimal looks.
it has the new menu button -
and it is integrated into Windows 7 taskbar, giving us the much awaited Jumplists. The Jumplist shows Frequently opened pages, and tasks like opening new window, opening new tab, and go into private browsing.
the tabs on top –
and the new add-ons manager -
none of the add-ons work with this beta, the startup and page load times are faster. You can get the Firefox 4 Beta 1 from here.
