Thor_movie_poster1

Yesterday I went to watch Thor 3D in English but when I reached Cinemax I came to know that they have scrapped all the English shows and I had to watch the movie in Hindi (ugh…)But thankfully the movie was not ruined (much) because of it.

The movie starts with Thor crash landing on Earth and is accidently hit by Jane Foster’s RV. The movie then flashes back to Asgard which is ruled by the powerful and wise but aging King Odin who is father of Thor. Just moments before Thor was going to be made the King something happens which compels Thor to lead an unauthorized attack on Jotunheim, which is the home of his enemies, the frost giants. Odin had to come and save him and he is banished from Asgard and his awesome weapon, Mjolnir, cannot be used by him unless he overcomes his arrogance and impetuosity.

In Earth, Jane Foster, her assistant Darcy Lewis and Jane’s mentor, Dr. Erik Sevig helps Thor out. There is a lot of humor here as Thor tries to adjust to human ways and fails. The acting by the cast is excellent except for Natalie Portman who surprisingly was a bit off. Especially when she delivered the line – Oh My God – it was bland and tasteless. The special effects, costumes, dialogs were good. The movie is fast paces and keeps you interested till the end. I am also impressed by the 3D effects of this movie. I have not watched a better 3D movie in Cinemax. Don’t miss this movie.

I am definitely gonna watch this movie, but since the shows are all hindi, I will have to wait for the blu-ray to come out. Nice review, I didn’t know there was supposed to be humor in the movie.

I wouldn’t have watched if I had known earlier that the movie was in Hindi.
