I just read the news that Anssi Vanjoki made the decision to quit Nokia because he wasn’t made the CEO after they canned Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo. Ok. it makes sense, the guy worked dedicatedly for twenty years in the company, he was outspoken, he had passion, he openly admitted Nokia’s faults and was ready to fight and bring Nokia back to it’s feet but even after all that he wasn’t made the CEO. A complete outsider was made the CEO.

"I didn’t become the CEO,"

"You know who the guy is it’s not you… so what do you do, you stay or you leave. I decided to leave."

He also has openly admitted that Symbian couldn’t/can’t compete with Apple’s iOS or Google’s Android in touchscreen smartphones and that Symbian rewrite is taking too long.

– isn’t this the most depressing thing for Nokia fans to hear? who would want to stay with Nokia/Symbian after the “Nokia top guy” has said such stuff? How can the current Nokia customers feel hopeful or optimistic about Nokia.

I am staring at my N97 with sadness right now.
